The small size mask blank means generally the one smaller than 202.8mm×202.8mm（8"×8"）. Generally, the man-made quartz glass or soda lime glass is used as its substrate, and it is mainly used for the photomask production of micro circuit patterns for integrated circuit (IC), semi-conductive components, sound surface wave filter and micro optical components, etc.

The large size mask blank means generally the one of 202.8mm×202.8mm~550mm×650mm（8"×8"~22"×26"）. Generally, the soda lime glass is used as its substrate, and it is mainly used for the photomask production of micro circuit patterns for flat plate display devices (LCD、PDP、VFD), high density IC lead frames, multilayer high density printing circuit board (PCB), BGA packaging, and positioning measurement grating, etc.
